Johann Hobach [sic], a ropemaker (Seiler), and his wife Maria Elisabeth arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 July 1766 aboard a ship named Apollo under the command of Skipper Friedrich Detloff Mörenberg.
Johannes Habich, a farmer, and his wife Maria Elisabeth settled in the Volga German colony of Hildmann on 18 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 25.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Hobach [sic] came from the German region of the Pfalz. The 1767 census records that Johannes Habich came from the German village of Grünstadt.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
