Hahn (Krasnoyar)*

Johann Klaus Hahn, a farmer, his wife Anna Katharina, and son Christoph (age ¼) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 aboard the Russian pink Vologda under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Bartenyev.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Krasnoyar on 20 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 24 along with the orphan Katharina Steinbecher. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Hahn and Steinbecher families although they had arrived in Oranienbaum aboard the same ship.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Klaus Hahn came from the German region of Darmstadt. The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Alsfeld in the Darmstadt region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Hahn family among the Volga German colonies.
