Wilhelm Hardt, a farmer, his wife Maria, and son Johann (age 19) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 July 1766 aboard a barque named Der Junge Mattias (The Young Mattias) under the command of Skipper Johann Gottfried Selander.
Johannes Hardt and his wife are recorded on the 1798 census of Bangert in Household No. Bg08.
The death of Johann[es] Hardt in 1799 is recorded on the 1811 census of Bangert in Household No. 8.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Wilhelm Hardt came from the German region of Nassau.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Hardt family among the Volga German colonies.
