Wilhelm Hartmann, a single weaver (Tuchweber), arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Wilhelm Hartmann is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
He is recorded in Household No. 160 on a list of Beauregard recruits that is attached to the 1767 census. He settled in the Volga German colony of Kind.
In 1780, Wilhelm Hartmann left Kind.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Wilhelm Hartmann came from the German village of Kettwig.
