Andreas Hartung (age 43), a musician (Musikus), and his wife Katharina [maiden name not recorded] (age 38) are recorded on the 1776 Katharinenstadt Grundbuch [Land Register] in Household No. 176 along with a note that he is serving in the Russian Army in St. Petersburg.
The 1776 Katharinenstadt Land Register records that Andreas Hartung came from the Mittlemark area of Berlin.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Hartung family among the Volga German colonies.
