Johann Peter von der Heid, son of Christophel von der Heid, and Maria Catharina Engel, daughter of Philipp Engel, were married in Schwickartshausen on 20 July 1752.
The baptisms of five of their children are recorded in the parish register of Schwickartshausen: (1) Johann Christophel, born 30 December 1753, baptized 1 January 1754, died 4 April 1754; (2) Johannes, born 5 December 1754, baptized 7 December 1754; (3) Anna Maria, baptized 25 November 1759; (4) Anna Elisabetha, baptized 5 November 1762; and (5) Anna Sophia, born 5 July 1765, baptized 7 July 1765.
Johann Peter von der Heide, a farmer, his wife Maria Katharina, and children (Johann, age 14; Anna Margaretha, age 8; Elisabeth, age 4; Anna Sophia, age 1.5) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the snow-brig Die Frau Dietrika under the command of Skipper Joachim Friedrich Luhn.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Hussenbach. The widow of son Johannes is recorded there on the 1798 census in Household No. Hs090 along with their son Johann Konrad.
The death of Konrad von der Heide in 1800 is recorded on the 1811 census of Hussenbach in Household No. 90. He had no known surviving male descendants.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Peter von der Heide came from the German region of Darmstadt.
