Discussion & Documentation

Christian Beckmann, a farmer, his wife Anna, and [step-]daughters (Katharina [Heinrich], age 12; Maria [Heinrich], age 10; Johannetta [Heinrich], age 8; Margaretha [Heinrich], age 5) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 aboard an English barque named George under the command of Skipper Adam Bairnsfair.

Christian Beckmann, his wife Anna Maria, and [step-]daughters (Catharina Elisab. [Heinrich], age 12; Johannetta [Heinrich], age 10¼; Christina [Heinrich], age 8; Maria Margareta [Heinrich], age 5¼) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Christian Bergmann [sic], a farmer, and his wife Margaretha settled in the Volga German colony of Paulskaya on 7 June 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 55 along with their 1-week-old son Konrad. His step-daughters (Christina Heinrich, age 14; Katharina Heinrich, age 12; Maria Heinrich, age 10; Margaretha Heinrich, age 7) are recorded in the following Household No. 56.

Christina Heinrich (age 14) and her sisters (Katharina, age 12; Maria, age 10; Margaretha, age 7) are recorded on the 1767 census of Paulskaya in Household No. 56 with a note that they are stepdaughters of Christian Beckmann who is recorded in Household No. 55.

The 1767 census also does not record from where the Heinrich sisters came.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Heinrich family among the Volga German colonies.
