Georg Ernst Henkel, son of Jacob Henkel & Anna Elisabeth Engel, was born and baptized on 11 September 1735 in Büdingen.
Georg Ernst Henckel, son of Jacob Henckel from Büdingen now a Russian colonist, married on 13 May 1766 in the Lutheran Church of Büdingen to Anna Barbara Hosfeld, daughter of Johannes Hosfeld, formerly from the vicinity of Hesdorff [sic] in the area of Thüngen.
Anna Barbara Hosfeld, daughter of Johannes Hosfeld & Gertraud König, had been born 13 May 1743 and baptized on 15 May 1743 in Heßdorf, Bayern (Bavaria).
Georg Ernst Hinckel [sic], a farmer, and his wife Anna Barbara arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 July 1766 aboard a ship named Apollo under the command of Skipper Friedrich Detleff Mörenberg along with her parents and siblings. [See Hosfeld Family.]
Georg Ernst Henkel, a farmer, and his wife, Anna Barbara, settled in the Volga German colony of Norka on 15 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 85 along with his sister-in-law Anna Katharina Gutfeld [should be Hosfeld].
Georg Ernst Henkel, his wife Barbara, and sons (Johann Heinrich, age 5; Georg Ernst, age 3) are recorded on the 1775 census of Norka in Household No. 33.
The 1767 census records that Georg Ernst Henkel came from the German region of Isenburg.
