Hermann (Paulskaya)
Simon Hermann, a farmer, his wife Elisabeth, and children (Justina, age 8; Katharina, age 6; Johann, age 2; Anna, age 2) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Simon Hermann, his wife Elisabeth, and children (Justina Maria, age 8; Johannes, age 7½; Catharina, age 6; Anna Margaretha, age 2½) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Paulskaya on 7 June 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 62.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Simon Hermann was a colonist of the Catholic faith from Austria. The 1767 census records that he was a colonist of the Reformed faith from the village of Elbersdorf [perhaps Albersdorf].
