Hertzberger*
Johannes Hertzberg [sic] from Niederaller near Marburg & Maria Gertraud Bock from Niederaller were married 17 May 1766 in the City Lutheran Church of Friedberg.
Johann Hertzberger, a farmer, and his wife Gertrude arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Siebe Heinrichson.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Dehler on 26 June 1767. Gertrude died and Johann remarried to Anna Katharina, the widow of Anton Trumm.
They are recorded on the 1767 census of Dehler in Household No. 33 along with Trumm's son Johann Wilhelm Trumm.
The 1798 census records Jakob Hertzberger from Dehler living in Brabander (Household No. Bn66).
The 1767 census records that Johann Hertzberger came from the German village of Hilst in the region of Kurmainz.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
