Peter Herwig, a farmer, and his wife Anna Margaretha settled in the Volga German colony of Kamenka on 6 July 1765. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 49.
The 1767 census records that Peter Herwig came from the German village of Bischtu... (illegible ending).
