Discussion & Documentation

Konrad Göbel, a farmer, his wife Rosina, and servant Eva Hoffmann (age 22) arrived from Lübeck via Reval [Estonia] at the port of Oranienbaum on 25 May 1766 aboard a pinque named Новая Двинка (New Dvinka [a river in Russia]) under the command of Lieutenant Ivan Perepechin.

Eva Schmidt née Hoffmann (age 24) and her husband Bernhardt Schmidt (age 27) are recorded on the 1767 census of Göbel in Household No. 69.

Neither the Oranienbaum passenger list nor the 1767 census record from where Eva Hoffmann came.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Hoffmann family among the Volga German colonies.
