Johann Nikolaus Hoffmann, a farmer, his wife Anna Margaretha, and children (Susanna Elisabeth, age 9½; Johann Peter, age 5; Johann Nikolaus, age 2½; Maria Katharina, age 1-week) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 16 August 1766 aboard a galliot named Frau Diederika (Lady Diederika) under the command of Skipper Johann Joachim Lunau.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Hussenbach. Father [Johann] Nikolaus and son [Johann] Peter are recorded there on the 1798 census in Household No. Hs083.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Nikolaus Hoffmann came from the German region of Zweibrücken.
