Discussion & Documentation

Nikolaus Höfner, a farmer, and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Kukkus.

They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 23 along with Anna Maria Houg, the surviving daughter of Daniel Houg.

The 1767 census records that Nikolaus Höfner came from the German village of Löhnfeld near Kurpfalz.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Höfner family among the Volga German colonies.
