Michael Holz, farmer, his wife Katharina, and children ([a] Johann [Wilhelm], age 20; Katharina, age 17½; [b] Jakobina, age 15; Elisabeth, age 3) arrived from Lübeck via Reval [Estonia] at the port of Oranienbaum on 27 May 1766 aboard a pinque named Слон (Slon - Elephant in Russian) under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Panov.
Katharina [widow of Michael Holz] (age 47) is recorded on the 1767 census of Leitsinger in Household No. 2 along with her [new] husband Adam Friedrich Jung (age 48) and children (Katharina [Holz], age 17; Jakobina [Holz], age 16).
[a] Wilhelm Holz and his [new] wife Veronika [née Jung] settled in the Volga German colony of Leitsinger on 12 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 15.
The 1798 census of Neu-Kolonie records son Wilhelm Holz in Household No. Nk05.
The death of Wilhelm Holz (age 60) of Neu-Kolonie is recorded on 22 April 1808 in the parish register of Preuss.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Michael Holz came from the German region of Mainz. The 1767 census records that Wilhelm Holz came from the German village of Vielbach in the Kurmainz region.
