Huber (Bangert-2)*

Egidius Huber, a farmer, and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard a koff named Alette under the command of Skipper Wybe Hendricks.

Anna died during the transport of Lieutenant Dunkler. He remarried to Katharina, the widow of Johann Gerhardt, and they settled in the Volga German colony of Bangert on 26 June 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 27 along with Katharina's son Johannes Gerhardt.

The 1767 census records that Egidius Huber came from the German village of Grimmelfingen near Ulm in Schwaben (Swabia).

There are no known surviving male lines of this Huber family among the Volga German colonies.
