Huck (Brabander)
An article by Wilhelm Funk records the following going to Russia:
Jacob Huck, a discharged soldier (verabschiedeter Soldat), son of Hanns Gg. Huck, a soldier (Soldaten) in the district of Breisgau, & Catharina Distler, daughter of Hanns Distler, a day laborer (Taglöhner) in Gaustadt, both Catholic, were married on 25 April 1766 in the Lutheran Church in Wöhrd.
Jakob Huck, his wife Katharina, and daughter Ursula (age 5) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 14 September 1766 aboard the galliot Der Jan under the command of Skipper Markus Dragun.
Jacob Hück [sic] and his wife Cattharina [sic] are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov along with a note that she died in route.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Brabander on 19 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 58.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Jakob Huck was a mason (Maurer) while the 1767 census records that he was a farmer.
The 1767 census records that Jakob Huck came from the village of Britzgau Kenzingen in Hungary.
