Discussion & Documentation:

There are 4 Ikstadt/Ikstedt orphans recorded on the 1767 census of Warenburg. The Idt/Rauchenbach translation of the Eideslisten (Oath Lists) and the 1767 census record their father's name as Johann Niklaus Ikstedt.

(1) Anna Margaretha Ikstedt (age 15) & Johann Anton Ikstedt (age 5) are recorded on the 1767 census of Warenburg in Household No. 1 along with the Johann [Peter] Kreiter family. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Ikstadt and Kreiter families.

(2) Katharina Elisabeth [Ikstedt] (age 17) & Jakobina [Ikstedt] (age 8) are recorded on the 1767 census of Warenburg in Household No. 4 along with the Nikolaus Kister family. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Ikstadt and Kister families.

Johann Nikolaus Pister, a farmer, his wife Susanna Katharina, son Johann Peter (age 20), and stepchildren (Katharina Elisabeth [Ikstadt], age 18; Maria Margaretha [Ikstadt], age 14; Anna Jakobina [Ikstadt], age 6½; Anton [Ikstadt], age 4½; Johann Adam [Ikstadt], age 1) arrived from Lübeck at the port in Oranienbaum on 15 June 1766 aboard the Die Vergelte Weintraube under the command of skipper Anderson. It is possible that the youngest child (Johann Adam, age 1) is actually the son of Johann Nikolaus & Susanna Katharina Pister.

Anton Ikstädt and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Warenburg in Household No. Wr073.

Anton Ikstädt and his sons are recorded on the 1811 census of Warenburg in Household No. 73.

Ikstadt families are recorded on the 1834 census of Warenburg in Households No. 121 & 133.

Ikstadt families are recorded on the 1850 census of Warenburg in Households No. 163 & 178.

Ikstadt families are recorded on the 1857 census of Warenburg in Households No. 192 & 207.

Neither the Oranienbaum passenger list nor the 1767 census record from where the Ikstadt family came.
