Discussion & Documentation

Gertrude Imhof, sister of Anna Christine Imhof who had been born 2 December 1719 in Partenstein, arrived from Lübeck along with her sister and brother-in-law Michael Steigerwald at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 July 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper John Scott.

She settled in the Volga German colony of Krasnoyar on 20 July 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 40.

Since her sister was born in Partenstein, Gertrude is assumed to have been born there as well, although this needs to be confirmed.

There are no survivng male descendant lines of this Imhof family among the Volga German colonies.
