Claude Inou, a farmer, his wife Anna Katharina, and stepson Johann Heinrich (surname not recorded) settled in the Volga German colony of Franzosen on 26 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 53.
The 1767 census records that Claude Inou came from the French village of Chambonse [?].
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
