Michael Janson, a bread baker (Semmelbäcker), settled in the Volga German colony of Rosenheim on 27 July 1765. Michael, his wife Anna Maria Orden, and children (Anna Maria, age 4; Martin Friedrich, age 1) are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 36.

Michael Janson's son Johann Adam Janson was born 2 February 1768 in Rosenheim and died 10 June 1840 in Krasnoyar.

In 1788, Friedrich Jansen moved from Stahl am Karaman to Krasnoyar. In 1790, Johann Jakob Jansen moved from Stahl am Karaman to Krasnoyar.

The 1767 census records that Michael Janson came from the German village of Ikelmein [?] in Prussia.
