Christoph Jarke, a leather worker (Lederarbeiter), his wife Julianna, and children (Dorothea, age 9; Valentin, age 4-months) are recorded on the 1767 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 130. They had settled there on 7 June 1767.

The 1767 census records that Christoph Jarke came from the German village of Quedlinburg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
