Jost (Warenburg)
Johann Heinrich & Maria Johanetta Just had four children whose baptisms are recorded in the parish register of Wolfenhausen: (1) Friedrike, baptized 4 February 1756; twins (2) & (3) Sophia and Anna Katharina, baptized 5 March 1760; and (4) Johann Friedrich, baptized 12 April 1762.
Johann Heinrich Jost, his wife Johannetta Maria, and children (Friederika, age 10; Sophia, age 6; Anna Katharina, age 6; Friedrich, age 5) and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the ship Die Neue Freiheit von Bremen under the command of Skipper Steingrawer.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Warenburg on 12 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 136.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Heinrich Jost was a hunter from the German region of Runkel, while the 1767 census records that he was a tailor (Schneider) from the German village of Wolfenhausen in the region of Runkel.
