Peter Jung, a farmer, his wife Christina, and [step-]children (Johann [Geier], age 10¼; Maria [Geier], age 3) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 11 June 1766 aboard a ship named Der Junge Heinrich (The Young Henry) under the command of Skipper Heinrich Niemann.
Peter Jung is recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Johann Peter Jung (age 24), a farmer, and his [new] wife Elisabeth (age 22) are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 141 along with stepchildren (Johann Geier, age 11; Maria Margaretha Geier, age 5). They had arrived in Warenburg on 12 May 1767.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Peter Jung came from the German region of Runkel. The 1767 census records that Johann Peter Jung came from the German village of Eschbach [today called Laubuseschbach] in the Runkel area.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Geier family among the Volga German colonies.
