Köhler / Keller (Warenburg-3)*

Adam Köhler, a velvet weaver (Samtweber), and his wife Elisabeth arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the Danish galliot Nord Stern under the command of Skipper Detlev Belling.

Johann Adam Köhler and his wife Johanna Elisabeth are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Warenburg on 12 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 93 along with the single man Tobias Weber (age 28). The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Köhler and Weber families.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Adam Köhler came from the German town of Frankfurt am Main.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Köhler family among the Volga German colonies.
