Johann Philipp Kaiser, son of Peter & Catharina Kaiser, was born 1 June 1741 in the German village of Eckartshausen.
He married in Eckartshausen on 10 August 1764 to Catharina Scheidmantel, daughter of Johann Adam & Catharina Scheidmantel. She had been baptized in Düdelsheim on 27 September 1744.
Philipp Kaiser, his wife Katharina, his mother-in-law Katharina [Scheidmantel], his brother-in-law Konrad [Scheidmantel] (age 17), and sisters (Susanna, age 20; Elisabeth, age 8) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard a packet-boat under the command of Midshipman Mankensey.
Philipp Kaiser, his wife Katharina, [sister-in-law] Anna Elisabeth [Schneidmantel] (age 12), and mother[-in-law] Anna Katharina [Schneidmantel] (age 46) are recorded on the 1767 census of Balzer in Household No. 45. They had settled there on 18 June 1767.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Philipp Kaiser was a farmer while the 1767 census records that he was a hosier (Strumpfwirker).
Both documents record that Philipp Kaiser came from the German region of Isenburg.
