An article by Wilhelm Funk records the following going to Russia:

Franz Carl, fabric maker (Zeuchmacher), son of Wencezlaus Carl, a fabric maker (Zeuchmacher) in Teutschbrod [Deutschbrod] in Bohemia, Catholic, & Elis. Magdal. Hörner, daughter of the deceased Joh. Hörner, a master mason (Maurermeister) in Leuterschausen in the area of Ansbach, Lutheran, were married on 17 June 1766 in the Lutheran Church in Wöhrd.

Franz Karl, a farmer, and his wife Katharina settled in the Volga German colony of Schönchen on 17 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 10.

Franz Karl and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Schönchen in Household No. Sn33.

The 1767 census records that Franz Karl came from the German village of Neuhof.
