Ludwig Kasson, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Melchior, age 22; Konrad, age 18½; Adam, age 15¼; Eva age 8) arrived from Lübeck via Reval [Estonia] at the port of Oranienbaum on 25 May 1766 aboard a pinque named Новая Двинка (New Dvinka [a river in Russia]) under the command of Lieutenant Ivan Perepechin.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Göbel on 25 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 46 along with Ludwig's new wife Maria Frick.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Ludwig Kasson came from the city of Paris. The 1767 census records that Ludwig Kasson came from the German region of Worms.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Kasson family among the Volga German colonies.
