Discussion & Documentation

Andreas Keil, a farmer, his wife Anna Elisabeth, and children (Johann Georg, age 11; Andreas, age 7) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the galliot Johannes under the command of Skipper Stahl.

Andreas Keil, his wife Anna Elisabeth, and sons (Johann George, age 11; Andreas, age 7) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Hussenbach where son Johann Georg Keil is recorded on the 1798 census in Household No. Hs034.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Andreas Keil came from the German region of Darmstadt.
