Discussion & Documentation

There are three Kifler families that settled in the Volga German colony of Enders on 27 March 1766. They are believed to be related because they all came from the village of Paterburg [?].

(1) Elisabeth Kifler (age 50), a farmer's wife, and her son Anton (age 17) are recorded on the 1767 census of Enders in Household No. 17.

(2) Joseph Kifler (age 20), a craftsman (Handwerker), and his wife Katharina Kohlberg are recorded on the 1767 census of Enders in Household No. 21. The 1767 census records that Katharina Kohlberg came from the German region of Durlach.

(3) Sina [?] Kifler (age 6) and his mother Maria Louisa Kifler are recorded on the 1767 census of Enders in Household No. 25 along with Maria Louisa's new husband Martin Kraft.
