Kisselmann (Balzer)
Matthias Kisselmann, son of Jacob & Sabina Kisselmann, was born 24 February 1732 in Keiselbronn. He married on 12 May 1761 in Neuburg am Rhein to Elisabeth Huber, daughter of Johann Georg Fischer & Anna Maria Huber. She had been born [illegitimately?] on 8 February 1730 in Erlenbach.
Johann Philipp Reichert, son of Georg & Maria Elisabeth Reichert, was born 9 June 1756 in Neuburg am Rhein. [See Reichert Family.]
Mattias Kisselmann, a farmer, his wife Elisabeth, and Philipp [Reichert] (age 5) immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein) arriving in the city of Schleswig on 4 July 1761.
While in Denmark, Matthias Kisselmann and his wife had a son Johann Mathias who was baptized at the Christkirche in Rendsburg on 17 January 1762.
They were last recorded in the Danish colonies on 12 January 1765. They joined the migration to Russia and settled in the Volga German colony of Balzer on 28 March 1766.
Mattias Kisselmann, a farmer, his wife Elisabeth, son Mattias (age 6), and Johann Philipp [Reichert] are recorded there on the 1767 census of Balzer in Household No. 22. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Kisselmann and Reichert families.
In 1788, son Mattias Kisselmann moved from Balzer to Anton.
In 1793, Martin Kisselmann moved from Balzer to Kukkus.
Mattias Kisselmann (Sr.) died in Balzer on 27 May 1812.
The 1767 census records that Mattias Kisselmann came from the German region of Wittenburg [Württemberg?]. The Eichhorns record that Matthias Kisselmann came from the German region of Kurpfalz.
