Johann [Ernst] Klies [sic], his wife Anna, and children (Anna, age 8; Konrad, age 4; Philippina, age ¾) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 July 1766 aboard a ship named Apollo under the command of Skipper Friedrich Detloff Mörenberg.
Johann Ernst Clor [sic], his wife Anna Margreta, and son Conrad are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that son Conrad died en route.
Ernst Kleer, a craftsman, and his wife Anna Margaretha settled in the Volga German colony of Norka on 26 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 176 along with Johannes Reuter (age 20).
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Ernst Klehr came from the German region of Isenburg.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Klehr family among the Volga German colonies.
