Discussion & Documentation

Christian Klein, a furrier, his wife Anna, and children (Friedrich, age 3; Barbara, age ½) arrived from Danzig at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 May 1766 on a ship under the command of Skipper Jakob Janson.

This is believed to be the deceased Christian Klein recorded on the 1798 census of Hussenbach in Household No. Hs055, because he was travelling with Jakob Hussenbach, the founder of the Volga German colony of Hussenbach.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Christian Klein is from the German region of Prussia.
