Johann Hinrich [sic] Klein & Agnes Loth were married on 1 July 1766 in the Lutheran Cathedral (Evangelische Kirche Dom) in Lübeck.
Johann Klein, a farmer, his wife Agness, children (Anna, age 12; Kathairna, age 9; Johann, age 8), and sister Elisabeth (age 36) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Heinrich Klein, his wife Agness, and children (Elisabetha, age 13; Catharina, age 9½; Joh. Heinrich, age 8½) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Heinrich Klein, a farmer, his wife Agnessa, and children (Anna Elisabeth, age 13; Maria Katharina, age 10; Heinrich, age 9) are recorded on the 1767 census of Kaneau in Household No. 82 along with a note that they relocated to the colony of Schaffhausen in 1768. They had settled in Kaneau on 3 August 1767.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann [Heinrich] Klein came from the German region of Riedesel. The 1767 census records that Heinrich Klein came from the German village of Wiederwellstadt [Nieder-Wöllstadt?] in the Riedesel region.
