Hans Martin Kloss immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein) in 1762 and settled in the colony of Sophienthal. He disserted the colony on 1 May 1765 and joined the migration to Russia.

Mattias Kloss and his descendants are recorded on the 1834 census of Galka in Households No. 18, 53, & 151.
The death of Mattias Kloss in 1838 is recorded on the 1850 census of Galka in Household No. 25.
The 1767 census records that Johann Martin Klaus came from the German village of Westlanger in the Baden-Durlach region.
