Discussion & Documentation

Theodor Klump was born in approximately 1789.

He served as a soldier in the 19th Infantry Regiment of Napoleon's Army. He fought against and was captured by the Russians.

Milovidov records that as of 1814 father and a sister were still living in the German village of Fischlen [perhaps Fischeln?].

He is recorded in Katharinenstadt on the 1834 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 324, 1850 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 431, and the 1857 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 458.

Anton Klump and his family moved to Orenburg where they operated a steam brewery. This brewery business was eventually acquired by Georg Hoffman from Bavaria and in 1902 became the Association of Steam Brewers - EE Hoffman & Co. of Orenburg. It lasted only a few years, as the Russian Revolution brought it to an end.

Milovidov records that Theodor Klump came from the German village of Fischlen [perhaps Fischeln?] near Köln am Rhein. [There is a Fischeln located about 50 kilometers northwest of Köln.]
