Christoph Knipper was born in approximately 1789.
He was a soldier with the 4th Light Infantry (Jäger) Regiment in Napoleon's Army and was captured by the Russians.
Milovidov records that as of 1814 his mother, two brothers, and a sister were still living in the town of Litsenburg.
He was settled in the Volga German colony of Enders in the household of Johann Müller.
He is recorded on the 1834 census of Boisroux in Household No. 125 along with a note that he had died there in 1826.
Milovidov records that Christoph Knipper came from the German town of Halberstadt in the region of Westfalen.
