Theodor Kohlbeck [sic], a weaver, and his wife Margaretha arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the ship Die Neue Freiheit von Bremen under the command of Skipper Steingrawer.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 16 August 1767. They are recorded on the 1767 census of Preuss in Household No. 120 along with a note that Theodor Kohlenberg [sic] died there on 20 October 1767.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Theodor Kohlbeck [sic] came from the German region of Trier. The 1767 census records that Margaretha Kohlenberg [sic] came from the German village of Göttingen in the Hessen-Kassel region.
There are no known surviving male descendant lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
