Köhler / Keller (Boisroux-2)*

The marriage of Johann Christian Köhler to Maria Charlotte Lubau is recorded in the parish register of Coswig on 8 April 1766. The entry reads:

den 8. April 1766 - Ist Johann Christian Köhler, Ackerknecht, Kaiserlicher Russischer Kolonist, verstorbenen Erdmann Köhlers, Ackermanns in Zuche bei Kalbe nachgelassener ehelicher jüngster Sohn und Jungfrau Maria Charlotte Lubauin in hiesiger Kirche getraut worden."

[On 8 April 1766 Johann Christian Köhler, farm hand, Imperial Russian Colonist, legitimate youngest son of the deceased Erdmann Köhler, a farmer in Zuche [Zuchau] near Kalbe [Calbe], and the virgin Maria Charlotte Lubau were married in the local church.]

Christian Köhler, a farmer, and his wife Maria arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Christian Keller [sic] and his wife Maria Charlotta are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Christian Köhler, a farmer, and his wife Maria settled in the Volga German colony of Boisroux on 7 June 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 17.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Christian Köhler came from the German village of Zuchau.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Köhler family among the Volga German colonies.
