Discussion & Documentation

Johann Kopf, a blacksmith, his wife Maria Elisabeth, and daughter (Maria Elisabeth, age 18) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1767 aboard the Russian pink Vologda under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Bartenyev.

Johann Kopf died and his widow remarried to Balthasar Dietz.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Huck on 1 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 45.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Kopf came from the German region of Isenburg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Kopf family among the Volga German colonies.
