Peter Kopper was born 3 December 1828 in Nieder Gruppe, Amt Schwetz, West Prussia. He married Justina Wall, daughter of Johann Wall & Margaretha Regier.
His son, Johann Kopper, was born 23 August 1856 in Hahnsau. This family was part of the group that followed Claus Epp to Turkestan. In 1892, they immigrated to the United States and settled in Bakersfield, California.
