Christian Kremel, a blacksmith (Schmied), and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Rosenheim on 28 July 1765. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 10.

The 1767 census records that Christian Kremel came from the German town of Danzig while his wife Anna Dorothea came from the German village of Seelow in Prussia.
