Johann Kress, a farmer, and his wife Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 aboard a ship named Die Perle under the command of Skipper Gerhardt Hermann Thomsen.
It is possible that this is the same couple that settled in Beideck.
Ernst Kress, his wife Anna Katharina, and children (Johann Martin, age 6½; Johann Heinrich, age 3½; Anna Maria, age 1¼) are recorded on the 1775 census of Beideck in Household No. 52 along with a note that their house had burned in 1770.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Kress came from the German region of Lindheim.
