Bartel[omeus] Krug, a farmer, his wife Sophia, and children (Johann, age 9; Susanna, age 6) arrived from Lübeck at the port in Oranienbaum aboard the ship Mann & Frau on 18 June 1766.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 15 July 1767 where they are recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 126.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Bartel Krug was a farmer from the German region of Mainz. The 1767 census records that he was a hat maker (Hutmacher) from the German village of Lübetz in the Kurmainz region.
