Nicodemus Kuhlmann, a butcher, his wife Anna Maria, and daughter Anna Katharina (age 13) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 August 1766 aboard a snow-brig named Drei Gebrüder (Three Brothers) under the command of Skipper Ludwig Münzenberg.
Nicolaus Kilman [sic], his wife Anna Margretha [sic], and daughter Anna Catharina (age 13) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Widow Anna Maria Kielwein [sic] is recorded on the 1767 census of Seelmann in Household No. 85 along with a note that her husband had died on 15 November 1767. They had settled there on 24 August 1767.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Nicodemus Kuhlmann came from the German region of Württemberg. The 1767 census records that Anna Maria Kielwein [sic] came from the region of Triest [Trieste?].
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
