Landberger*

Zacharius Landberger, a single man, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 25 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Maria Sophia under the command of Skipper Johann Bauert.

Zacharias Lantzberger (age 18) is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

He settled in the Volga German colony of Schäfer on 30 August 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 50 along with the Johann Georg Pauly family. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Landberger and Pauly families although they arrived in Oranienbaum aboard the same ship.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Zacharius Landberger was a tailor while the 1767 census records that he was a farmer.

The 1767 census records that Zacharius Landberger came from the German village of Bei der Kirche in the Württemberg region.

There are no surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
