Paul Lang, a farmer, and his wife Margaretha arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 August 1766 aboard the pink Slon under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Panov.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Hildmann where they are recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 27.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Paul Lang came from the German region of the Pfalz while the 1767 census records tha the came from the German village of Neuburg an der Ohm.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Lang family among the Volga German colonies.
