Lang (Messer)
Michael Lang, a farmer, his wife Elisabeth, and sons (Peter, age 33; Adam, age 23) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
The parents evidently died before reaching the Volga German colonies. Both sons settled in the colony of Messer on 18 June 1767.
(1) Johann Peter Lang, a farmer, and his wife Anna Katharina are recorded on the 1767 census of Messer in Household No. 56.
(2) Adam Lang, a farmer, and his wife Anna Margaretha [Meisinger, daughter of Johann Valentin Meisinger & Anna Catharina Hart - See Meisinger Family] are recorded there on the 1767 census of Messer in Household No. 57.
In 1798, Johannes Lang moved from Messer to Kraft.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Michael Lang came from the German region of Isenburg. The 1767 census records that both Johann Peter Lang and Adam Lang came from the German region of Isenburg.
