Lang (Warenburg)
Melchior Lang & Catharina Ekhart were married 24 April 1766 in the Lutheran Cathedral (Evangelische Kirche Dom) in Lübeck.
Melchior Lang and his wife Anna arrived from Reval [Estonia] at the port of Oranienbaum on 31 May 1766 aboard the pink Slon under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Panov.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Warenburg on 12 May 1767. Melchior is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 11 along with his new wife Maria Katharina and his brother-in-law Johann Jakob Bensler (age 5).
Widower Melchior Lang and his children are recorded on the 1798 census of Warenburg in Household No. Wr091.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Melchior land is a farmer from the German region of Hanau. The 1767 census records that he was a tailor (Schneider) from the German village of Bladernheim in the Hanau region.
