Lateau*
Anton Lateau, a farmer, his wife Maria, and his mother Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 3 June 1766 aboard the galliot Adler under the command of Skipper Paul Adolph Drath.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Seelmann on 24 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 42.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Anton Lateau came from the German region of Frankfurt am Main while the 1767 census records that he came from the village of Saint-Julien-de[illegible] in the French region of Dauphin [?].
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
